The networking department aims to improve co-ordination in programming for HIV and AIDS interventions in the communities. The Networking department is divided into 10 provincial chapters. Networking among ZAN members and with similar networks in other countries contributes towards increased programming skills among members. Networking programme activities take various forms which include in country and across country programme exchange visits for members; creation of vibrant and effective HIV and AIDS thematic groups; modelled around the national level thematic task forces. Such thematic forums have been decentralised to district, and provincial levels. Members can also share best practices within the thematic areas and for cross pollination and inter-linkages of member initiatives across themes. Annual principal workshops are organised where members share their best practices in programme interventions. Documentation of such initiatives has allows for broader sharing.
